Chlorine Recipe for Nature 2 Systems

First time fill or refill
1) Add 1 oz. of SPA BRIGHT to remove any iron and calcium
2) After your spa has reached 100°, start checking and adjusting your pH and alkalinity. This can be done with pH Down and pH Up. You may need to be aggressive when lowering pH/Alkalinity. It is not uncommon to go through 1 lb. or more of pH Down - try doses of up to 1/2 cup ever two (2) hours if needed. Once you pH is balanced, move to step 3
3) Install the NATURE 2 cartridge in your filter (ask your salesperson/delivery person for the specific location) and add one tablespoon of SANI SPA (comes in starter kit - also know as CHLORINE POWER or DICHLOR.)
After Every Use
1) Add 1 Tsp. of SANI SPA (comes in starter kit) or CHLORINE POWDER (bigger bottle) or DICHLOR (technical name) after using your spa.
As Needed
1) Add a squirt of FOAM AWAY to remove foam while you are in the spa. This is just a temporary solution that works only for about an hour. (A more permanent/maintenance solution is FRESHEN or SPA PERFECT.)
Weekly Maintenance
1) Add 1 oz. SPA BRIGHT every week to prevent iron and calcium from building up in your plumbing.
2) Add 2 o. of SPA SHOCK (comes in starter kit) or SANI START (bigger bottle) or POTASSIUM PEROXYMONOSULFATE (technical name). This reactivates your chlorine that is already in your spa.
3) Add 1 oz. of FRESHEN / SPA PERFECT every week to prevent oil build up.
4) Check and adjust pH and Alkalinity as needed.
NOTE: Is it NOT necessary to maintain a chlorine reading with the Nature 2 system.
Monthly Maintenance
1) Remove and soak your filter cartridges in CARTRIDGE-RENU. Simply follow the direction on the label for mixing/soaking. You can use a bucket of cleaning solution 3 or 4 times, depending on how dirty your filters are.

Draining and Cleaning
1) Before draining, take the filters our of the spa, and add some SWIRL AWAY to the spa. This cleans the jets, pumps, and plumbing of the spa from iron and calcium build up. Let the pump(s) run for a couple of hours, and then drain.
2) Once spa is drained clean spa shell with WIPE OUT spa cleaner to get any left over deposits off the spa shell.
3) Protect your spa cover with the FERONGARD COVER CLEANER and PROTECTANT. This should be done at least every spring and fall. This will help prolong the life of your expensive spa cover vinyl.
